SWOT Analysis
Strengths: I've always enjoyed media, most notably the graphic design side of the course. I developed a magazine front cover and double page spread for my GCSE's of which I was very proud of. During my media GCSE I learn't how to use programs such as Photoshop
confidently. I enjoy graphic design, I find that you can work easier when working on something I enjoy. Graphic design is an area I never thought I would be good at until recently, even so, it feels like I have been doing it for years due to my time with the course in year 10 and 11.
Opportunities: Out of this course, I aim to increase my skill in graphic design so I can one day move into the industry. this course will help me hone my skills on more programs than Photoshop. I hope to one day work on video games or possibly even movies.
It would be a dream to one day possibly work in London or possibly even abroad. I have no intention to go to university due to the price but the idea is tempting if it is a possibility in the future.
Weaknesses: I've been deaf in my right ear my entire life, it is difficult for me to focus with loud background noises but I can manage to ignore it on most days. I find work easier with music as it helps drown out the background noise, although I can't wear earphones and have to resort to bulkier headphones as the earphones can damage my ears further. My time management can definitely be improved and I sometimes stress about harmless things but since the start of this year I have improved upon and managed to remove this habit.
Threats: A poor financial situation and my lack of hearing are currently my only threats. this can effect my punctuality and attendance but I am determined to not let it get in my way. I always manage to arrive on time if not early. I don't have much in the way of being distracted because my poor hearing actually sometimes help me ignore annoying background noises but sometimes and can also make it harder to hear important information. Teachers usually take my poor hearing as not listening but that is the complete opposite from what is happening.
